Landry Albright hopes the new year will start off in an amazing way—instead she has to deal with more frenemy issues, boy drama, and having most of her best friends make the cheerleading squad without her. Suddenly, it seems like all anyone can talk about is starting high school next year—something she finds terrifying.
Landry gets her first boyfriend, but then gets dumped just as things come to a head with her friends. She feels lost and left out, but finds good advice about dealing with frenemies from what she considers an unlikely source. Landry learns to speak up for what’s right, tell the truth (even when it hurts), and how to get past the fear of failure as she gets another shot at competing in the American IngĂ©nue reality show modeling competition.

Book Beginning:
There was nothing like spending Christmas in Chicago. The city was so sparkly and bright when it was all lit up and decorated for the holidays. It was so exciting to see all the cars and taxis whizzing by and feeling like anything was possible in the big city. I loved getting off the train, seeing my dad, and taking the taxi back to the apartment my parents and I lived in together until my mom got transferred to Grand Rapids. I liked my new school and all, but I missed my dad living with us and hoped he’d be able to find a job in Michigan and move in with Mom and me.
The Friday 56 (From page 56):
“Thanks, it — it means a lot to me that you’d come see me play,” he said, his eyes locked on mine. They were so warm, and it felt like my smile was radiating through my whole body.
“Any time.”
“I have to go out with the team tonight,” he said, glancing behind him. “But I’ll talk to you later, okay?”
He walked over to his teammates. Then he turned around and winked at me.
“He totally likes you,” Peyton said.
I nodded. It felt amazing that he seemed to truly appreciate that I had been there, but I couldn’t shake the thought of how Devon would feel if she learned her crush didn’t feel the same way about her.

For those who are interested in the possibility of an afterlife I am sharing something different this week. I hope you enjoy :-)
There is no getting away from the fact there are several editing glitches in this book, but the author's writing style and content kept me turning the pages. Not only does Ms Carrillo share some of her experiences from early childhood to the present day, she does so in a way that offers the reader a new and sometime surprising insight on the subject. This author did not quietly go through life accepting her path. Indeed, at times, she fought strongly against it. She queried, disbelieved, and met her destiny on her own terms. I read this book in an afternoon and was still thinking about many aspects of it hours later.
Book Beginnings
I was an unplanned pregnancy , born in the north of England in a lower class family. My Nana, my mum’s mum, had nine children and I had endless amount of cousins , aunts, and uncles.

He just smiled at me and in that instant, I remembered how he was my closest friend , how he had been by my side since I was born, and how much he had guided me over the years. I felt completely stupid as I realized he was my guide, he was as good as it gets.
Book Blurb:
Always by Your Side is the incredible true story of a psychic medium.
Describing the amazing abilities Gaynor was born with, seeing spirit since birth, entering a world that was beyond ours and having psychic abilities are just some of the many incredible things that happened on a daily basis in Gaynor’s childhood.

Each page of this book is sprinkled with the magic of spirit, laughter, tears and down to earth honest stories from the life of a medium. Born with the ability to see dead people. It wasn’t until the death of her own father when she was thirteen that she started to explore what was happening to her.

Over two decades later she is now an international psychic medium who has given thousands of spirit Messages and now wants to share with you some of the magic she has experienced over the years.

Her stories of spirit will touch your heart and hopefully bring you closer to understanding the afterlife.

A Husband For Danna by Christina Lorenzen
If you are looking for a feel-good-factor rom-com then Christina Lorenzen's A Husband For Danna fits the bill. It's a very 'visually and well written 'fun' book, and I felt I was 'there' most of the time, and loved the descriptions of small-town America settings.
Off and running! In her frenzied quest to escape from a groom her father has chosen for her, Danna Rashba ‘borrows’ a limousine parked on Main Street. The last thing on her mind is finding a groom from another wedding in the backseat. What are the chances that the bride and groom from two different weddings running from the altar on the same day? The last thing Danna wants is a hostage as she tries to escape from her nuptials.
The last thing Eric Harmon wants is to be saddled with yet another spoiled, needy woman. He’s furious about this wrench in his plans, he accuses Danna of stealing. He wants to send her home in a cab as soon as they get to the nearest town, but Danna refuses. Much to Eric’s frustration, one thing after another seems to keep them tied together.
Soon the generosity of a local shopkeeper and several people in town have them mistaken for newlyweds. Danna and Eric find themselves stepping into the role as husband and wife leading them to realize they just may be each other’s ‘match’. But will Danna be able to stand up to her rigid, old fashioned father and choose her own husband?
Book Beginning...
Panting from the short dash from the church to the curb, Danna looked around wild-eyed, spotting a limo at the curb. The fact that it wasn't her bridal party's limousine didn't matter. She ran around to the driver's side and flung open the door.
pg 56...
Unlike her intended husband, Eric's nose couldn't have been more perfect if it had been special-ordered. Where Nagpal's cheekbones hid beneath fleshy cheeks, Eric's were prominent. Though she had taken back the pretty boy label, she still thought he had to be a model.
